How easy it is recalling the pleasures of life while stretching in the sun under the warmth of blue skies on a breezy mid-60’s June day in upstate New York. Knowing times are worse but that evil is subdued and Satin is still on a leash held by God who controls all things.
I can feel the appreciation life has brought after prevailing through thus far the hardship months of 2014 . Now nearing the end of spring with a week to go before summer I love the Northeast and the powerful changes of seasons.
I’m reminded again of the hard blows of life when my face is denied the glowing heat and there’s a chilly breeze from being under a few passing clouds.
Dropping my head I internalized the struggle of life. The enjoyable light and the struggling shadows are always there and can so easily change life while enduring through the shades of gray. But not for too long.
While watching the blue skies with its patchwork of clouds standing by to block the sun’s friendliness like on or off buttons that come with life’s puzzle a silent gift arrives.
The badges of the Holy Spirit’s fruit of godly growth in life are displayed in my God given faith.
As He turns up His presence and makes me more aware of His greatness temporary passing clouds are quickly replaced with eternal joy.
Turning to the book of Romans chapter 8 and the great work of the Holy Spirit joy is increased.
Verse 2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Verse 4 “that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Verse 16 – 17 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
Verse 24 – 25 “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance?”
Verse 31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Recalling the blessings of living with God the Holy Spirit on the inside is like holding the strongest tree on the highest mountain during the worst storms and floods. The peace of God is believing “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
